  • "Why are there actually mountain pastures and what do the people do up there?", these and other questions are answered in the exhibition. This exhibition in the existing, newly remodelled museum buildings deals with the interplay between untouched nature and the ancient cultural landscape of the mountain pastures shaped by man. Ecological contexts, mutual influences and the benefits and problems are presented in a highly educational manner.

The existing national park exhibition "Secrets of the mountain forest" in the Talwirt building has been clearly integrated into this exhibition both in terms of subject and exhibition space.

The exhibition is free of charge for holders of the SalzburgerLand Card and the NationalparkSommercard.

Over winter, only the mountain forest exhibition is open in the Talwirt building (opening times as the Talwirt building).
