Trail description:
Taking the "Wandertaxi" to Wetterkreuzhütte saves a good 1,000 metres of climbing that go steeply through the forest. Families are advised to take the direct route (38) to Zupalseehütte. Only a few metres of climbing have to be conquered on this easy path, allowing hikers to take their time in soaking up their surroundings. Those of you who would to conquer a peak, should undertake the climb up to the top of Griften (40) via Legerle. Only 500 metres of climbing have to be covered and the view improves with every metre climbed as new peaks appear for you to admire.
Once you have reached the summit of Griften, you will have a 360° panoramic view that makes the heart of any hiker skip a beat. The rocky peaks of the Defereggen Alps can be seen in all their beauty.
