Family tour Winklerner Almsee

This family tour takes the entire family to the beautiful Winklerner Almsee (lake Winklerner Almsee) in the Schobergruppe (Schober group).




    • Brief tour description:

      The tour starts at the Roaneralm / Winklerner Alm parking lot: along the provincial borders between Tyrol and Carinthia, you will be able to enjoy a marvellous view of the impressive Schobergruppe (Schober group) mountains with a height of more than 3,000 metres above sea level.

      Highlights:

      Take your entire family and enjoy a beautiful hike to Lake Winklerner Almsee, guided by a national park ranger. This family tour provides you with a first insight into what the Hohe Tauern National Park has to offer, especially with regard to biodiversity. We are already curious to find out who will be the first to spot a marmot or another inhabitant of the Alps through the looking glass: Will it be a big hiker or a small one?

      Important information:

      Bring hiking boots, weather-resistant clothing, snacks and drinks. Places for rest, food and drinks: Roaneralm hut or Winklerneralm hut; suitable for families (for children from 5 years of age)

      4 hours, altitude difference: approx. 200 m, length approx. 5 km, easy, suitable for families

    • Anfahrt:

      From Lienz via Iselsberg to the Gasthof Schöne Aussicht inn; from there, a toll forest road will lead you to the Roaneralm / Winklerneralm parking lot.

      The meeting point is not accessible by public transport.
