Defereggen Valley

  • The untouched landscape of the Hohe Tauern National Park is a paradise of wild romance and rugged beauty.

From the final stop of the ski bus at Staller Sattel, the ranger tour starts to the weather cross above the Obersee lake. The trail continues to the border with South Tyrol with a wonderful view of Lake Antholz - along the border further to the Heimkehrerkreuz and then to the Oberseehütte - which invites you to take a break. After a little refreshment, we return to the starting point along the western shore of the lake.

In case of unfavourable snow conditions and high avalanche danger, the tour takes place in the valley area of Maria Hilf / St. Jakob towards Patsch.

    Special feature:

The National Park rangers will accompany you during these four hours and reveal their knowledge about the valley, the animals and the history of the Hohe Tauern.

Let yourself be carried away into the world of solitude and silence of the Defereggen valley.

    Important information:
Suitable for children from 6 years!
    Snowshoes are available.
Please bring: winter-proof shoes (no moon boots), ski poles, winter-proof clothing, drink and a small snack.

Our rangers have been trained to conduct the ranger tours in accordance with COVID 19 regulations in a separate seminar.
